The second round of the award-winning residential building project "Mežpilsēta" of the real estate developer "Merks mājas" celebrated topping out. At the end of the important stage of construction work, according to tradition, a symbolic wreath was placed on the roof structures of the future building. The building is planned to be put into operation already in the autumn of this year.
"Topping out is a special moment in the construction process, when the end of a large and important cycle – the construction of the highest point of the building and the framework – is celebrated. At the moment, the building can be seen in its entirety, and in a few months the project will be put into operation and will become a modern, practical and comfortable home for our customers. I would like to thank the entire team, who with their tireless work take care of the project's implementation and continuous improvement! Only as a result of joint work, we are able to find new solutions, for example, the construction of underfloor heating in all apartments, which will not only reduce the energy consumption of the apartments, but also provide a much more pleasant living environment in daily use," he says. As part of the second phase of "Mežpilsetas", an A-class energy efficiency residential building with 47 functionally planned 2-4 room apartments, with an area of 44 to 82 square meters, with full interior decoration is being built. Common and private warehouses are planned in the building, as well as a 60m2 common room with a large outdoor terrace will be built in the basement. The building will have children's playgrounds and gazebos, as well as outdoor parking spaces. The territory will be fenced with video surveillance.
"I am pleased that, thanks to the professional team's enthusiasm, high sense of responsibility, determination and passion for the work to be done, the construction is proceeding smoothly and according to the planned schedule. The first round of the "Mežpilsētas" project has already proven itself by ranking in the TOP 3 in the prestigious competition "The best building of the year 2022" in the nomination "New residential construction", and the project team is confident that it will be able to maintain the high bar in the second round of the project as well.
"At the moment, the construction of the constructions supporting the building frame, including the roof parapet, has already been completed in the project, as well as the external electrical network construction works have been completed. At the final stage of the project is the installation of utilities in the floor, concreting of the floor and installation of windows, as well as the insulation of the facade, which is currently 50% completed. In addition to that, we have started the construction works of the roof, plasterboard partitions, as well as external water and sewerage networks," explains Dmitrijs Dmitriev, project manager of "Merko būve".
